This week my post will is a little different then normal, but still it is what I am feeling very thankful for this week. I have been thinking so much about the paths we take in life. How little things & big things along the way allow us the opportunity to make large & even the smallest of changes in that path thus sending us down a different road if you will. I wonder if the things I choose good & bad alter my path in life for the better. I think that we all have a course in life that is mapped out like a freeway system a chutes & ladders freeway system. If you choose "x" then you exit on ramp 204 & if you choose "y" then you keep going to 505 until then you exit & that will take you to a new "freeway" or choice "z" sends you back 3 freeways. I don't know if any of this makes sense to anyone other then myself, lol but I get it, I so get it. Every step we make has the ability to alter our path for the better I hope. I feel very blessed with the path I am on, even with all the twists & turns, setbacks & joys. Sometimes it's hard to make a decision for lack of sight for what is around the corner, but I know that in just taking a step in any direction it will impact your life. Even if not in the ways you envisioned, & that my friends I believe is the path you are supposed to be on, if not for yourself, for someone you'll meet along the way. The road less traveled might be just the ticket you need! With that, I didn't get much out of high school honestly, I feel as if it was a pretty big waste of 4 years, however I did learn one beautiful poem that has always stuck with me. This Thursday, I am thankful for the knowledge it has given me in living my life & choosing my path. Enjoy!
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
