I have not adopted a child, however I know many, many people that have (including several family members I think between Clint & I we have somewhere around 10-12 adopted cousins). We never know what life will bring to us, so I may be in a position to adopt a child (or children) one day, so I try to stay somewhat current on all the adoption info. I can get my hands (or eyes!) on. Tomorrow is such a special day, it's National Adoption Day!
What an amazing day, a day that will change families forever! 34 Judges in Maricopa county are working on a SATURDAY to finalize the adoptions of 292 children! Seriously it touches my heart. These children who have been placed in a home, who have been nurtured, raised, loved & taught for various lengths of time can finally say that they have a Dad & a Mom forever. No matter what. For always!
Here is a little article about it! I wish I could attend to show support to all these families who have fought so hard to have their families complete. We'll have some friends there & we're so thrilled for them!
If you'd like to learn more about adoption experiences, check out this blog, Lindsey is the adoption guru & there is a wealth of knowledge & amazing experiences!
Here is a video Lindsey posted a couple weeks ago. I had NO idea some of these people were adopted! I love what she said (she is in the middle of fighting for one of her sons she has had since he was born):
this is my response to a certain birth father in my life that has said, "all adopted kids have serious psychological problems."
i don't think so.
