This is my Nanny (grandma) & I, this photo was taken last summer while we were in Texas to attend my Paw Paws funeral (her husband). She is celebrating her birthday this week & I just wanted to acknowledge it! I'm so glad she was born because she gave me the best Dad on earth & a family that would do anything for you. She always had each of my sisters & I come stay with her for a week in the summer & I always looked forward to spending time with her & hearing stories about our family. She was always so good to spoil us & show us off to all the ladies at church. I always loved being in her beautiful home & I would just sit & admire how pretty it was. I loved the perfectly made bed that I called mine for that week & for the fresh, crisp white towels. Who gives a kid white towels?! I still love to watch re-runs of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune & Designing Women. We always watched them together when I was there. I still love it when I've had a tube of neutrogena hand cream in my purse, because each time I open it it smells like her, I love that scent to this day & can't help smiling when I smell it! I even go as far to make my sisters smell it & ask them what it smells like, just for kicks! We all respond each time, "it smells like Nanny" & then we just giggle.I love her to pieces & miss getting to see her often. I hope she has a wonderful year filled with all the best blessings someone could ask for!
That is so cute! I totally know what you mean when you say scents remind you of people or times .... excited to see you guys this weekend - it's going to be freezing so bring a jacket!
